Jonathan D. Chang

Shaolin 5th Duan Instructor (10th level)
Taijiquan Instructor (5th level)

Jonathan began his practice of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts at the age of five at Yang’s Martial Arts Association (YMAA) in Andover, MA, where under the guidance of Mr. Chris Fazzio, he progressed in the YMAA Shaolin Kung Fu curriculum for 15 years.

In March 2008, Jonathan enrolled in the intensive 10-year training program at the YMAA California Retreat Center where he trained full-time under the direct supervision of YMAA founder and renowned martial arts teacher and author, Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming. Jonathan graduated in June 2018 and is a disciple of Dr. Yang.

Beginning his teaching career in 2000, Jonathan has since aided and instructed at numerous seminars and training camps in the United States and worldwide. He has also competed and judged in various tournaments around the nation.

As Jonathan further expands his knowledge, he hopes to help preserve the Traditional Chinese Martial Arts through continued practice, teaching classes and workshops, writing articles and books, and producing instructional videos and DVDs.
